What are the wardrobes economy, model overview

High-quality, beautiful repairs do not mean expensive. Modern furniture manufacturers make economy class options that look decent, meet all quality standards, and most importantly, are pleasing in price. A good economy wardrobe is available to any consumer.

Features

The main task facing manufacturers of cabinets of economy class is how to make a high-quality, durable, inexpensive design. Appearance and design features are in second place. Therefore, most often, such cabinets are made in standard sizes, in the most popular colors. For expensive repairs, such a design, of course, is not suitable. But for a standard repair with ordinary finishing materials, inexpensive furniture, such a cabinet would be a great solution.

The main feature and advantage of an economy class sliding door wardrobe is its cost. The price is affected by several factors:

  • the cost of the material of which the structure is made;
  • type of cabinet;
  • dimensions and shape of the finished structure;
  • the presence of mirrors and additional decorative elements.

First of all, the price is affected by the quality and cost of the material from which the wardrobe is made. Mainly for the manufacture of structures used chipboard of different thicknesses. Chipboard is characterized by availability, quality, wear resistance, reliability. The material tolerates a change in humidity and sudden changes in temperature. There is much debate about the environmental friendliness and harmlessness of this material, since the composition of the chipboard includes formaldehyde resin. In large quantities, it can harm the human body, but in the amount in which it is contained in the finished design, it does not harm health. And the material used complies with all standards and accepted sanitary standards.

For fastening doors, steel sliding systems are used. Such systems are much cheaper than aluminum, which are installed in expensive models. Despite the low cost of sliding systems, they show excellent performance in operation.

Design in economical models is minimal. Most often, the facade is decorated with imitation wood of any type. There may also be mirrors, metal inserts. Mirrors can be decorated with a pattern or painting. The color scheme is standard. There are practically no stylistic features.

Varieties

Wardrobes of economy class, as well as luxury models are divided into several varieties:

  • built-in;
  • case.

Built in

Such a cabinet is usually installed in special niches or half-niches. The dimensions of the cabinet and the shape are selected according to the dimensions of the niche. The main feature of this design is that it does not have a ceiling, floor and rear wall. The wall of the room is used as the back wall. All shelves, clothes rods and drawers are attached to the side walls.

This design is much cheaper than the rest. The cabinet takes up little space, while it is very roomy. Of the minuses, it is worth noting the inability to move and rearrange the structure.

Case

This is a full-fledged design, which has a floor, ceiling and rear wall. Such a cabinet can be moved and rearranged. It is considered a separate element of the interior. It can have different shapes and sizes, complemented by external side shelves.

In addition to the two main varieties, it is also worth noting modular designs. They are assembled from several modules selected by the customer. They can have different contents, different sizes, as a rule, take up a lot of space.

The location of the following types of cabinets are shared:

  • for the hallway (used to store outerwear, shoes, bags);
  • for the living room (used for storing bedding, documents, sets, etc., may have open shelves for TVs or an aquarium);
  • for the bedroom;
  • for children;
  • for the kitchen (for storing dishes, kitchen utensils).

Shape and size

The main shapes and sizes of economy-class sliding door wardrobes are the same as in expensive models. The simpler the form, the cheaper the design. The form distinguishes the following varieties of wardrobes:

  • straight lines are the simplest and most standard rectangle-shaped design. May have several doors. Fits well in any interior. The sizes of this form can be very different, depending on the number of doors;
  • angular - convenient because they do not take up much space. Suitable for a room of any size. The edges can be complemented by open shelves. The main disadvantage is the complexity of the form, which is reflected in the price, since the design requires a certain angle fit and additional consumables. A corner cabinet can have a different shape: the letter "G", a triangle, a trapezoid, a pentagon. All of these varieties belong to corner cabinets. The simplest is the shape of a triangle;
  • Radial - have the shape of a semicircle, circle, oval, as well as a concave or curved shape. More common among expensive furniture. Among the economy class are extremely rare, since the doors have a very complex structure, the price of products is quite high. Mostly custom made. They appeared much later than the corner ones.

There are no uniform standards and norms for sliding wardrobes. Each manufacturer has the right to make cabinets of any size. The height of standard models ranges from two meters to two and a half meters. The depth of the standard cabinet is approximately 60 cm. And the length can vary from 90 cm to two and a half meters.

All these measurements are very arbitrary. Since at the moment a huge number of models with a variety of sizes are being manufactured.

Maximum and minimum dimensions of structures:

  • width - minimum indicators 1.2 meters, maximum - no restrictions;
  • height - depends on the height of the ceilings in the room. From about 2.6m. up to 3.1m;
  • depth - minimum mark 40cm, maximum 90cm;
  • door width - minimum width 50 cm, maximum - 1 m.

Internal organization

Any cabinet has a minimum set of shelves, clothes rods and drawers. Their number depends on the purpose of the cabinet, its size. Most often, the following elements are present in the cabinet filling:

  • shelves - it is on the shelves that the internal structure of the cabinet is based. They zone the entire interior. On the shelves it is very convenient to have non-creasing things;
  • bar for clothes - their quantity depends on the size of the structure. They can be either fixed or retractable. Such rods are designed for storing clothes on trempels;
  • drawers - it is very convenient to store small things in drawers. The height and width of the boxes can be different. In the most economical models there are no drawers;
  • baskets - consist of trellised rods. It is very convenient to store socks, underwear, small things, children's toys in them.The main feature of the baskets is that the things in it are ventilated.

How to choose a quality model

In order to purchase an inexpensive cabinet, but at the same time reliable and high-quality, it is necessary to follow some recommendations:

  • It is advisable to purchase a sliding wardrobe in large companies that have a decent reputation. They, as a rule, will not risk their name, for the sake of a batch of low-quality designs;
  • You can order furniture from MDF instead of chipboard;
  • the simpler the design, the longer it will last. This is especially true for doors. Do not choose models with many decorative elements;
  • when choosing a model, you must pay attention to the quality of the sliding system. Poor rollers are a common cause of breakdowns;
  • special attention must also be paid to fittings, such as hinges, hooks;
  • when choosing a finished model, it is necessary to carefully compare all parameters and measurements.

An expensive wardrobe does not mean quality. And the low price does not mean that the design is unreliable. The main thing is to responsibly approach the choice of model.
